Hi all, Ive been detailing my dads motor on his '70 El Camino SS and everything has been going great until I did the valve covers. Most of the motor is chromed/polished and I used Mothers Amazing Billet with a small/extended powerball to polish most everything. Everything has been turning out great until I did the valve covers. They actually got milkier the more I polished. I trid Mothers Chrome Polish to see if that was my problem with the same results. Any idea on what to use on these valve covers to get them to shine good again?

Are they chrome plated?
If they are, they'd just get hazed from anything that you'd use to polish aluminum.

You nailed it, I made a dumb mistake. I forget that everything chevrolet has is Chrome plated stuff (alot cheaper too). Any idea on what to fix it with or bring it back to its shine?
