^^^ thats what i used 2. it takes alot of polishing though. but its worth it. mine turned out great

Assuming polishing will not get through the scratches you will likely need to wet sand the tank. The depth of the scratch will determine what grit you need to start with. I learned with my canton tank it is important to sand with the grain of the metal, and not to use excessive pressure when sanding. Once you work your way through the grits, up to 2000, you can then use a polish to finish it off.
