I have a 1999 cobra that when the gas tank gets around 1/4 tank and you go wot it want to stumble and stutter but when i fill the tank back up it runs good until it gets low again and im puzzeled.Any suggestions please.Thanks

id change the fuel filter.

did you just buy this car?
is it possible that a nonstock fuel pump is in it that drains the bucket at low fuel levels?

its also possible that enough crap has gotten into the fuel pump pre filter that at low levels it can't suck the fuel well enough.

Had car for 3 years just in last month started problems.changed plugs,fuel filter,cleaned maf,throttle body

Have you put a pressure gauge on the car while driving?

Its also possible that with 1/4 of a tank that the pump is overheating but with more than its keeping cool. Which would be a sign of the pump going out.

might want to just to take one for the team and replace the fuel pump.

they aren't terribly expensive.

Is there a possibility he has sludge in his tank? :shrug: Happened to me with an old Z28. Just a thought.
