plastic black cover gas tank shroud replacement

I have a new black cover for the cobra gas tank. The one thats on now got burned all the way through from the exhaust being to close. I have the tank on empty is there any tricks to tacking this off and replacing it with the new. thanks

Humm maybe take some 2x4's and wedge them up under the tank. Like on the right and left hand side of the tank. There is a metal seam that goes all the way around the tank and it has enough lip you could probably do this if you don't have anyone to help. If you just put a Jack in the middle it's going to be a pain in the butt. Call two buddies to help hold the tank up while you swap the covers really quick.
