Can a bad pilot bearing cause a slight vibration? Also, does the pilot bearing usually squeal like the TOB does?

thanks

Ok guys and gals, I pulled the flywheel off and sure enough... the pilot bearing is broken. I can feel bearing rollers laying around inside. So here is the new question. Is there any way to get that damn thing out other than maybe a small slide hammer?

Ghetto way - Soap chips stuffed inside and a 3/8 extension hammered into it to pop the pilot bearing out. That is how I did it.

The best way is to use a grease gun and fill the cavity behind the pilot bearing. Then use a 3/8" drive 7/16" socket (also filled with grease) and hammer.......pops right out.

EDIT.....remember as you drive out the pilot bearing you have to add more grease in the cavity.
