I picked up the car on Tuesday around noon. Drove the car from Tucson to the house. All I have to say is, you can' really appreciate this car until you drive it!!!!!!!!

No pull, no vibe, just a bad azz black vert. I have been driving it for two days know have about 400 miles on it. Trying to break it in before I really run it. I have been keeping the RPM's under 3K for the most part. :) Occasionally heat cyclying the car up to 4k and 5k. :coolman:

Left the lot with "Bad to the Bone" playing. Awww man it was/is sweet.:) At the first light guy in a 2k2 SS pulls up beside me gives me a thumbs up.

Wife flew with me to get the car. She is scared of it already. This is a good thing. She won't be tempted to drive it. I asked her on the way home if she wanted the wheel she said, "Uh-uh this thing scares me."

Don't know who said they could not break the tires loose. I broke the tires loose with the traction control on :p about a block away from the dealership. Probably has something to do with road surfaces out here (Usually dusty).

I took a few pics and must share. I think you will like them. I stopped at one of my favorite rest areas and shot the pics. If you have ever been on I-10 between Tucson and El Paso you'll know the spot.... Check it out.

Nice ride AND pics !!!
You should print those pics out and put it above your computer !!!
I was told to vary the RPM's 2-5 K's to seat the pistons (?) for the first 1500 miles....oh yeah, and to always check the gauges and previous parking spot for leaks etc.... Everything was Fine !!!
(i'm not a mechanic...HAHAHA)
First Music ......
I mainly listened to the car's engine as I left the dealer.
Ironically, saw another 03 torch red vert parked at a restaraunt 1/2 mile from the dealer (berea,OH).
thre days later, drove in one straight trip to S FLa........when I went to sleep I could still hear the 80 mph exhaust rumble in my head !!!
ENJOY !!!

You guys waiting for your car let me tell you it is well worth the wait.

I just figured out how to shift the thing yesterday. The 2-3 shift is the easiest shift. Simple push forward and it goes right into third. I'm just not used to a car like this.... Frickin awesome.

Sweet car. If I lived in Texas I would have a vert too for sure. Your right about that 2-3 shift, easy as pie. It's the 6-3 shift that I put it in 5th once in a while. Enjoy.

Oh, no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys, I think the car has the 80mph vibe... I really didn't notice anything until last night. I was running it a little bit. Accelerated in 6th to 80 mph car has a very slight vibration. Look in the rear view and note that the cars behind me are fuzzy.

Made an appointment for monday morning. Hope doc can fix it. Still an awesome car.

MAN! THAT - is - one - beautiful - automobile! I've always loved a nice black on a car. However keeping it clean has stopped me since my first one (a black 1986 Escort Pony).

Good luck with the vibe. Have you (or anyone for that matter) found a "broadcast message" for this issue yet? I remember seeing another thread where the guy described the old compared to the new driveshaft, and I asked about part numbers, but I think the thread was already far enough down that he/she didn't see my question. Well, good luck! And keep us posted?!

Thanks guys... It is an absolute beauty... Wouldn't have even noticed the vibe if I wasn't posting on this board.. I will ensure that this car is perfect. I have faith.

Congratulations on your car. I have a yellow convertible and just found out the other day it has a top! Life is great at 90 with the top down. The best feature is the 80mph alert where your ball cap lifts off your head to let you know you're doing 80.

Keep us posted on your vibe issue as I have an identical small vibration at 80-85 mph.
