Is there specific jargon a person has to say to stop people from recording your call, when they say this call will be recorded for training purposes, etc? I have a company that just started calling last Friday. The company they represent sent me a bill for test I had done in July 2013, in June 2014. I automatically kicked them off a $25.00 check. Did so again when I got the bill in July. August they turned it over to a National Collection Agency. They admitted they saw my 2 payments and that they had been credited to my account. They said when they send a bill it is due immediately as they do not make payment arrangements. Well they start out by saying the call is recorded. The girl they put on the phone Friday had me so twisted up by the time I hung up I do not know what all was said but the above. My mother-in-law passed away Monday night and this company has been harassing my wife today while I was at work. I will talk to them and pay them but I do not want to be recorded FOR THEIR BENEFIT! What do I need to say at the start of the call to stop any recordings, if at all possible. I thought I should be able to say....I do not agree for this call to be recorded for any purposes whether for training or other matters. Please turn off your recorders and I will happy to speak to you. Also if you refuse to turn off the recording ????? All for $350.00 or so. DUH! Thanks
