Pecking sound in engine

Has anyone noticed a slight pecking noise at idle. Sounds similar to a dry lifter in a block cam engine. Runs great just a slight noise and I cant tell if it is the charger or coming from under the valve cover. Thanks

Mine does it also, my 98 had the same sound, I believe that it is normal for the DOHC. The 98 had 45,000 on it when I sold it and no problems.

My DOHC makes that sound too.......my 1.8L DOHC that is, LOL!

Both my '98 and the '03 do that. Must be normal.

my sohc does that too, must be normal, maybe you are listening to closely for "problems" I say just drive the ever living heck out of it and let the warranty guide your way

Pecking sound on engine

:gt: sounds like the pecking is coming from below. there are 2 different sounds. I agree the injectors make quite a bit of noise but I believe I will let the dealership know. whatever it is I dont like it. otherwise the car is out of this world. runs terrific. keep me posted please.
