any one know how many coats of paint are on a black 04 cobra vert? dont know if that matters so much?

Generally the factory paint is pretty thin. I can't remember how many mils. It is applied electrostatically by automation.

I know there was a "thin paint" issue on both sides of the rear 1/4 panels right in front of the wheel wells.

no just a lot of the ones i see that are driven have a bunch of small chips and they seam to scratch easy
