P-2196 fault code, service engine soon light on, bad to drive car?

Pretty much as the title says, I want to make sure that it is not going to hurt driving my car with this fault code. The P2196 fault code is for bank1, sensor 1 oxygen sensor stuck rich.

also will it hurt to take the car up to 6000 rpm? I have noticed a bit of a dead spot at about 5000 rpm when you are at wide open throttle.

I really would'nt run the car until I got the 02 changed. If you continue to run it your liable to find a worse under lying prob.

when you say run do you mean drive the car at all or do you mean revving it high? I want to fix it but I need to take it to the dealer because it is not the oxygen sensor, I switched the front 2 and it still gave me the same code.

I was hopeing someone could tell me if the computer goes into a "safe mode" when there is a problem like this.
