Our new tattoos!

The wifey and I are in SoCal, getting tattooed at Ignition Tattoo Studio in Apple Valley (IgnitionTattoo.com 21065 Bear Valley Rd. Suite#4 Apple Valley, Ca 92308). We got here Monday night and have been getting inked ever since. Thought I'd post up some pics of our progress. I'll add updated pics to these first couple of posts so you don't have to read through the whole thread to see 'em all.

My piece is traditional Japanese, using Noh Theater masks to recreate Japanese folklore. There's a lot of subtle meanings and story told with each individual mask. It's not finished yet as I'm still going on it (and posting on breaks between drillings).

I'll post up the finished pics when we get back home Monday. Christy's will be finished on this trip. Mine will still need a few hours to finish it. I'm usually a psycho when it comes to being able to sit for extremely long tattooing sessions, but my leg gave out on me this time. It hurt like bonkers and my leg started swelling pretty bad after about the 20th hour and we had to stop b/c it wasn't taking the ink very well with all the fluid. That, and the pain was getting unbearable. Odd, considering the other ~100 hours of ink on my body went smooth and didn't really hurt that bad.

Dam thats way more hours than I would have guessed. That just seems like hell for the sake of having to sit still that long haha. Looks good though and update when you get it completely finished.

Thanks. I sat 9 hours the first day and about 10 on the second day when we realized my leg was kaput. I don't think I could possibly take 20 hrs in one day. The pics shown don't reflect all the work that was done. We got within 3 hours of finishing, but my leg's a mess. There's way more work done than the pics show. Standby for transmission on Monday.

The turtle was modeled after a pic of a real one. We thought it was kinda amusing how pissed off it look. "You hairless beach-apes are screwin' up mah ocean!"

I have already told myself that i wont get another tattoo until if find an artist who has skills such as the one working on you.

Apple Valley huh. I used to live there. Kind of an armpit of a town. Glad I got out of so cal. Atleast your getting something good from that town. Tats look cool but man I dont know if I could spend all that time sitting there like you did.

I know but with the ocean scene I'd have to get a blue ringed octopus in there.
