So now that summer is beginning to wind down I am in the market for another car to drive as my DD to keep the miles of the cobra.

I dont want to spend a lot since it will literally be driven to/from work and otherwise putz around.

The things I am looking for are automatic transmission (must) and at least 4 doors. If it is a 5 door/wagon/hatchback even better. I'd like to stay under 100-100K miles with obviously the fewer the better. I am looking at primarily spending $3K or less but can go a touch higher for the right car.

Let me know if anyone has something that fits and maybe we can talk!

I will part with my 2002 VW passat 1.8t for $4500 if you are interested in spending a little more. It has 108k on it and is up to date on all service.

ive been very happy with how my S70 has treated me... granted its an old man car but it gets around 31mpg on road trips and i avg about 26-27 going to work and everything... but for 3K you wont find one under 175K miles mine had 140K on it and it was 5600

finding a good car for your price and your mileage is gonna be hard, cash for clunkers just took most of the cars in your price range off the road

I have found a few on craigslist that are older cars but with decent miles and look like they have been taken care of. I just know most here take really good care of their cars so I was hoping we'd be able to help each other out.

I was just thinking about it. Out of that price range, most people probably already turned those things in for cash for clunkers, you might have a tough time finding something.

check out 95-97 LINCOLN TOWN CARS. They are cheap and the 4.6 runs forever if properly maintained. I have customers that have gotten 250K+ out of them.

I think there is still a good deal of mid-sized cars out there b/c they didnt qualify for cash for clunkers mpg.

Nutty - I'll email you, but do you know if that is the base, GS or LS?
