OT:Cherokee won't stay running,help please.

My XJ dies after starting as soon as you release the key from the start position on the ign. switch. I replaced the switch and it does the same thing. If I hold the switch on the start postion the engine will run,albeit with the starter engaged and running, as soon as I release the key to the run postion it dies. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

well take a test light drop down your dash so u can get your Ignition harness bascailly it has all the main wires in it ,starter , ign, acc, and constat12v ..... test your Ign and ACC wires when u start the car and when u get off the key ....it seems like u have a bad Ign or Acc wire maybe a blown fuse .but us a test light to find out what wire it is

will your radio work in the run position??? if not then you have no juice there and like mystic said, time to break out the test light
