Guys, I am getting the AFS 03/04 Cobra Replica Rims sent.

I ordered the 17 x 9 for the front, and the 17 x 10.5 for the rear of the car. My questions is this:

[1] What is the widest Nitto that can truly fit without hitting
[2] What is the widest BFG that can truly fit without hitting
[3] Why do some people say the tires fit while others dont?
[4] Will the nitto or BFG's fit fine without a lowered car?
[5] Can someone recommendwhat tire brand to go with for a very very wide stance on an IRS Cobra
[6] I do not want to use spacers, what are my options?

Thanks guys that answer these questions.

1. 315s, but they'll look bad
2. 295 with no modifications, 315s with a 1/4" spacer and shaved bolt
3. different standards, misalinments:shrug:
4. sorry, dont know that
5. BFG
6. 295 BFGs:rockon:

Rev,
I have Nittos extreme 555 drag radials in the rear, they are 315/35/17 up front I have Nitto's 555 275/40/17. I did not need spacers for the rear tire/wheels. I also have installed Eibach springs. It gave the car a sinister stance.

I believe you are right, but in reference to 18 inch rims. Rev said he bought 17 inch rims. BFG's only come in 275 and 315 in the 17's.

I have 1/2" spacers with 315's and I really like them :-D

What 1/2" spacers do you have? Did you need any other modifications to get them to fit?

I run Nitto 555R's...315/35/17's on 10.5 AFS wheels with NO rub issue at all and I don't run spacers.

However...The BFG's in the same size have been reported as having a rub issue with the IRS bolt.

Each brand of tire has a slightly different profile...even though they are the same "size". Nitto's have the "leanest" profile from what I have learned and work well for me.

Hope this helps.

I run 17X10.5 AFS wheels with the 1/2" hubcentric spacers from Maximum Motorsports. With a spacer 1/2" and larger you will have to buy longer studs. The studs are .620" knurl diameter on the cobra. I suggest buying a spacer that is hubcentric. If the spacer is not hubcentric then the load of the car will be forced onto the lugs themselves and have a high possibility of breaking.

Here is a link to opinions on non-hubcentric spacers.
