Ordered my MGW shifter their shifter boot and Cobra Bob’s gasket this morning. Excited about getting it and getting rid of the stock shifter. Was curious what position most people put the handle in , I was thinking around 6:30 or 7 o’clock position. What are most of you guys going with? Also curious on the Cobra bob shifter gasket are you guys using 2 or just 1?

MGW = Greatest thing ever made

I run mine at about the 6:40 position and i'm about 5' 10".

I also only ran 1 of the Bob gaskets, but i don't see how two could hurt.

Your gonna love it, it's like driving a different car, 1 Cobra Bob gasket, and about 6:35 ish on the handle position. I wanted there shifter knob but it's a little pricey, I'll just use the stocker for now.

I just installed mine last night. I love the thing! I had one in a 97 cobra and its just as nice as I remember it. The shifts are fast and precise, the noise level is way lower with the gaskets. I wanted to drive all day while at work because of how awesome it shifts now. You will love it!

Congrats! I can't wait to buy one for my car. I like the composite shift knob

to be honest, i didn't find the noise levels to really be all THAT much more quiet with Bobs gaskets, but it was nice not to have to use gooey RTV.

Great shifter tho!

Just put mine on tonight. Went really well except I lost one of the metal tabs for the plastic trim (looked for 30 min couldn't find it) but seems to be pretty snug anyways. the 2nd to 3rd shift is great with it. I got the cobra bob gasket and also the mgw rubber boot , but still hear a quite a bit of transmission noise atleast when I have the windows up, but it was probably just as noisy as the stock shifter. Maybe I just got a noisy tranny? Do you guys hear much tranny noise with your terminators?

not sure about the 03/04s, but I know that the MGW is pretty quiet for an aftermarket. I've got 2 of them now, and both of them have an omni-present HUMMMM from the tranny "meshing" when the windows are up and it's dead quiet. It'll never be AS quiet as the stock, but it is a good amount quieter then any other aftermarket i've seen.

It's normal for me at least, I have the gaskets AND the extra dust boot as well
