After a TON of research, I mean hours and hours....

First I ordered the Flowmaster Hushpower axleback for tone.

Now I wanted more performance.....

I ended up ordering a Airaid Cold Air Intake in combination with a SCT xcal3 with 3 Custom Tunes from Bama Tunes specifically for this CAI.

I used Bama Tunes for my Mach 1 and they were great.

They have a 2011 GT automatic in-house and have tuned it with this CAI on their own car, it should be nice.

For $654 shipped after $25 airaid rebate I get the tuner, cai, and FREE Tunes for life.

All total my 3 mods cost me $1010.

I can't wait to install all three before the new year and start flying!!!

Where is this airaid rebate offer from. I really want to run the airaid/bama combo myself

Brian

Brian,

I can't find it on their site anymore????
Try calling Airaid and see if they can direct you to it.
You have to buy the intake by 12/25/10
If you can't find it I can fax it to you if you PM me your fax #

I will...

I hate dyno #s as one dyno can read 400rwhp and another dyno can read 380rwhp for the same car.

I would love to dyno before and after to see the true gains relative to each other, but I don't know if that will happen.

that is true. Best you can do is try an stay with the same dyno place to get fair numbers.

Congrats on the purchase, should be a nice upgrade in power!

I only have 250 miles on the car, I haven't even got in to the throttle in stock form. I can't even do a fair before-after comparison by seat of the pants.:rollseyes
I have to get some miles on this car quickly, they are calling for snow this weekend.:nonono:
I like to have 500 miles on a car before I thrash it, old school mentality.

I am not even talking about that, I mean if I post #s of say 400rwhp, another guy can post #s of 385rwhp, but his car might actually make more power, just the dyno he was on reads low.

Of course, the only way to see what gains you actually made is before and after on the same dyno on the same day.

Hmm

Go break that car in the right way!!
The fastest cars are always driven the hardest in the first fee miles!!

I noticed you came from a C6 Z06. I must ask; why the switch?

The C6 Z06 was too much car for the street, plus I was bored of it.
I traded it for a 2007 Porsche 911 Targa 4.
After back problems I was forced in to automatics...

So it was 08 C63 AMG to 09 Challenger R/T to 08 Vette Convertible to 03 Mach 1 and back in a new 5.0.

I prefer Stangs to any other car....
The 5.0 just brings me back to why I graduated college.

The CTS-V is another killer car, but there is something about the Mustang that has always made it my favorite.

Modding a Mustang is always part of the fun of it, nothing like a few mods and then laying the smack down on a much higher dollar car:)
