Is it just me, or do factory ford paint jobs have a lot of orange peel? I looked at several brand new cars at the dealership and they all had a ton of orange peel. What's the story?

Unfortunatley our cars a painted by robots going down the assembly line to cut costs... You can try having the car wet sanded but the factory clear coat is very thing so you have to becareful

Ok, I guess hearing that it's normal is a little re-assuring that I didn't just get a dud. I just hate seeing the peel atop the mystichrome. I'll try getting it wet sanded down this summer.

before you start sanding, try zano polishes, it works wonders over a few times. i dont know if it removes the orange peel, but it sure hides it good. it will look much better over time with carefull polishing. good luck

It's probably a bad idea to wetsand the entire car, especially since the paint on our cars is already thin.
