Yup, they were setup poorly, and simply fixing backlash etc will still give you gear whine ad they have already worn in.
Best best is to grab another set, make sure it is Ford brand.

These are brand new ford gears. That I am in the process of setting up myself. This is my first time and that's why I wanted opinions on the pics I posted to see what adjustments I need to make. I think I need to adjust the pinion depth but I ran out of gear marking compound , the kit didn't come with very much so I am waiting on more to come in and then I will run the pattern again

Why do they look so worn on the upper/outer edge? NM I'm seeing the leftover compound.

Looks too tight to me. I’d start by backing the pinion out a hair and you might need to move the ring out a hair as well.

The fact that you have no marking compound left between the top edge of ring and your contact pattern and you are almost down to the bottom suggests way too tight.

The more I thought about it I would need a thicker shim I believe.I will try it out once the extra gear marking compound comes in hopefully tomorrow
