My buddy found this on the houston craigslist. If your in the market this is a once in a life time buy and a super limited production car if its a real saleen cobra.

Its a hard market our there and some people may see it's just a Saleen while others will see just a Cobra. So he would have to find the right buyer that would know what the car is. And not just a body kitted Cobra.

I called Saleen in Troy, MI and ran the vin and it does not come up as a Saleen vehicle though it has a tag on the firewall, no Saleen seats (as it should have had). I'm callin it a kitted Cobra though it is pretty.

u may be right about it being fake but saleen cobra's do not come with Saleen seats. that car seem's to be legit. has engine plaques and interior plaque i'd have to look up what build numbers they had for the white vert's.

i've seen those engine plates on ebay before. Having Saleen run the VIN is the only way to know for sure if it's real. If they said it wasn't then it's not one of theirs. Still a nice car and not a totally rediculous price.

Not necessarily on the seats. Unless the owner ordered the optional Recaros, they would have left the factory units as-is.

That car is not a real one in any case. I checked my Saleen book that runs through 2003 and that VIN does not match up to any of the P49 (cobra convertible) cars that are listed.

The other clue is the spoiler. It's not correct for that year and model.

Not real. But a good lookin car. We googled (not sure if he typed in the VIN or the Saleen serial number), the car and found some info on another forum. Saleen 03-011 was a Cobra and so was 03-013 so someone tried to fake this one and figured 03-012 must have been a Cobra also. There were no Saleen Cobra's in 03 in the OW Vert trim. We were about to email the dude at Saleen that he used to verify his car and a car for a friend of ours but we found the post first. Still a smokin deal on a sweet a$$ low mileage Terminator though

yea i actually went to take a look at the car when it was for sale. its just a cobra with a saleen body kit. it looks pretty darn close to one though.
