So I installed an LFP oil separator and went for a ride for the first time and it collected a good 1/4 inch of oil on a 30-40 mile trip! Is this normal? it made me think how much has gone through there in the past, so do i need to take anything apart to clean or will it eventually clean its self somehow?

cleaning you intercooler is a good idea (below supercharger) other than that your intake/plenum/throttle body could have some oil in it.

Thats about normal after initial installation of that type of seperator.

No, it won't clean itself. You'll have to take it apart to do so. And you'll be doing it often.

I found that power purple clean works better than brake cleaner. And the torque spec is 33FTLB.
