By the looks of it, with more filter area and more holes it seems that the Race filter might have a tighter micron filter media, therefore Ford Racing increased the flow area to keep the pressure drop across both filters the same,or similar to each other.

Considering I change the oil every 1K or so, I see absolutely no reason to spend over twice as much on the FRPP filter, leak or not. I guess some of you guys that hammer the sh1t out of your cars may see some microscopic benefit after 100K miles. lol

I'm having the oil changed for the first time since I purchased my 2013 GT-500. Bought it with 7,364 miles (fresh oil change by Ford dealer). Now at ~ 9,750 miles I'm going to use the Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil Filter (Part No. M1-210) and 8.5qts of Mobil 1 5W-50 full synthetic. I'm daily driving for now so planning to change with same every 5,000 miles unless any major objections or reasons any of the above is a bad idea. Thoughts?

Very awesome op.
I never venture to the Shelby area much but I'm glad I did today. I was wondering about those filters.
Think I'll stick to my motorcrafts for the money though :)
