Oil cooler delete?

Hey guys I have a 98 cobra and the oil cooler is leaking sending oil into my coolant and was wondering if I could delete it? With say the gt oil filter adapter? And if so from what years?
I do plan to put an after market cooler on just need to do this for the time being any info helps thanks

Yes it can be deleted. You can use the GT housing and hose, just not sure of the years off hand. I used a Ford Racing piece when I deleted mine. FWIW, you don't need to add an aftermarket cooler either. The whole point of the oil cooler (actually an oil warmer) on the 4V cars was to get the oil to operating temps faster for emissions reasons.

Okay thank you I’ve heard of using the adapters from the gt’s im just not sure what years would work for it
