It floats and they use anchors to hold it in place. Some of the anchors just got dislodged in the storm. No biggie. They pick 'em back up and re-tension the anchor lines. I have been on rigs when that has happened. A little freaky but not a disiaster.

Yeah, but that would still be some scary sh!t to be on one when it happened! :eek:

this rig had not yet started producing oil. it is not beleived it will trigger higher prices because of it. but the hurricane probably will.

The rig could be in dry dock for a while. This rig is dynamically positioned with GPS, no anchors. This was a non-producing drilling rig, not a production platform.
