I found a guy giving away a couple of sets of GT500 shocks/struts he says he got from Shelby when doing the Super Snake Conversions. Picked them up, and trying to figure out if they are really GT500 suspension parts. I have Google'd and can't seem to find anything, and my local Ford Department doesn't pull up this part number.

6R33-18080-BC
6R33-18045-BE

These are the part numbers on each of the shocks/struts. I tried plugging them into a decoder, and got that they are for a Ford Mustang, 2006 manufacturing year.

The ford department says they don't match an 06 GT, 07 GT, or GT500 part number, but that it could be an early production.

Has anyone seen this as the part number for the GT500 shocks/struts? I can't argue with free, but I am about to lower my GT and want to know if it's worth swapping these over and getting GT500 mounts, or if I should just swap springs until I can get a better setup.

Appreciate any help offered.

These numbers don't cross in my system. Based on the part numbers I would guess they're not GT500 shocks/struts. I have a set of early '07 GT500 shocks/struts and they all have "7R3V" numbers on them.

Honestly, the 07-09 shocks/struts are quite squishy. I'd suggest finding some '10-12 takeoffs. They're considerably better (stiffer).

Here is a pic of an early '07 GT500 rear shock I have:

The shocks?........

By the part numbers, both appear to be Mustang GT.

Hmm that sucks. Still free shocks so can't complain, but was hoping for more. He said he's had them since 07, so I guess it's possible these were from the SHELBY GT cars...

It may have been a take-off from Mustang GT during a SGT or a SGT-H? I think they got FRPP suspension during their Shelby build.
