OEM exhaust gasket question...

What is the material of the OEM exhaust gaskets? Is it a metal base? Layered metal base? Reusable? The reason I ask is that I just got my long-tube headers and the gaskets that came with them are just regular cheap paper-based flexble gaskets. I only want to go through this once and don't want to have to deal with either of the exhaust gaskets blowing out, cracking, or leaking.

best to get new ford gaskets or reuse the stockers. i bought new ford and tossed the crappy paper

Are the stockers metallic, or do they have an internal metal layer(s)?

Thanks, that is exactly what I wanted to know. I guess I'll be stopping by the dealer to pick up some OEM ones and toss the crappy paper ones as green said (except I might toss them into my fireplace... :burn: ;-) )
