I am replacing the rotors and brake pads on my car (02 SVT Focus). I have EBC rotors and OEM pads. The front pads that attach to the caliper pistons have a grove and an arrow. They are not identical and I figure they are location specific.

Which direction should the arrow go (up or down)?

Any advice is appreciated. We recently moved and my auto manuals are still buryed in boxes in the basement and I have already started the task.

Thanks,
Vincent

hard to explain but the angled side should be on top that where the brakes first connect the rotor. SVTF front calipers is front mounted on the knuckle so the angled side goes up. if you had front calipers mounted on the rear of the knuckle them the angled side will have to be on the bottom. for this reason the angled side stops stop squeeks.

That's what I figured. I also figure the arrows match the direction of rotation of the rotors. I finished the install last week and everything seems to be working fine so far.

Thanks for the reply.
