Just picked up a 03. Previous owner had the cluster replaced at ford with a used unit, the LEDS were going out. Ford documented the mileage on the receipt but didn't correct the mileage on the new cluster.
The new cluster reads 40k miles but the truck really has 80k on it. Is there any way I can have the odometer corrected to reflect the actual miles? I want to knock this out before I title and register it so it doesn't effect the mileage on title or carfax.
Since the cluster is programmed to the truck would it be as simple as mailing my cluster to one of those companies that charges $70 to correct the odometer and then put it back in?
