I've read here before that the 305/35-18 fits fine on stock rims. I'm going to get these tires at some point and I wanted to know if the 275/40-17 are going to be too small, if the 305/35-18 fit fine. Is any one running these tires in stock size on the stock rims?

305/35/18 is an 18" tire - you aren't going to fit an 18" tire on the stock 17" rim.

I have the 275/40/17 version of this tire, mounted on replica 95R wheels (same dimensions as stock wheels) and they work fine. If you're looking at the RII, you're looking at a roacourse tire - I think you'd upset the handling balance towards understeer by going to 305/18"s in the rear.

Maybe they were 315/35/17. Don't remember very well and I can't search. I don't want DR's though. I want the RII's. And they only make them in 275/40 for the 17" rim, so I guess I'll get those.

I am running the 555rII's 275/40/17 on the front and they are just as wide as the stock goodyears.

Hi,

The 275/40/17 RIIs are very close to the stock F1s in width and diameter.

The only other RIIs are the 285/35/18 and 305/35/18. They still have not released the RII in the 315/35/17 although they have promised it for the last 18 months.

The 285/35/18s are a perfect fit for the '00R wheel and work wonderfully on our car.

I have not had any real issues running the 315/35/17 555R on the open tracks although they do tend to roll-over a little early but that is expected from the tire design.
