so i'm looking at picking up a set of 18x9 and 18x10s for the car and wonder what tires to run? i've got 315/35/17 555r on the rear of my car now, and i like the traction i have with them. i'm looking at tires to run for the 18s and i see thr 555rII in a 305 but only a 295 for the nt-05, which i kind of wanted to try out. for the folks that have experience with this, what are your thoughts?

I had 285/35/18 on my 10.5 rears and they were kinda skinny. I swapped to the 305 DR on my CCW 11" rears and they look much better. Nittos run more narrow than other brands anyways so you might want to factor that in as well. BFG's are about an inch wider for the same size tires for reference.

You're talking about getting those tires for the rear? I thought you liked being on a DR?

I did some reading on the nt-05, people say that hook really well and that they feel traction-wise like a 555r, but that they were a bit quieter and also more rain friendly. Not that I plan on driving in the rain but at least if you get caught in it, you know.

I have the NT05 on my car right now and I think it's the best tire I've ever had. Same bite as the 555r, but I also got caught in the rain on the Power Tour and did just fine because of the water channels.

the nt05s on my wifes 430rwhp terminator dont hook for anything...

i would never buy those tires until they.. well, they just came out with the DR design of the NT05... they might work.. but i wouldnt buy the nt05 and expect to hook.
