Hi,
I was wondering if the traction on a 295/35/18 NT-05 would be equal to a similar but wider 315/30/18 tire or something close. Contact patch is huge I know but is half an inch that noticeable?
Generally I am looking for a wider rear with superior traction that isn't a drag radial. Would that extra half inch of traction on the ground make that much of a difference?
My goal is a perfect all around tire with adequate traction for a 500+ RWHP Cobra.
I also think i might be maxed out at 295 due to the 18x10 Saleens I will be running but could definitely be wrong...

Thanks,
Pete

Thanks for the post Pete.

Generally speaking, wider tires will offer more handling and traction when mounted on a wheel with the correct width. Since your rear wheels are 10" wide I would go with the 295's. I don't think you'll gain much by going to 315's as this size will actually pinch up on the wheel.
