NPB: 9.74@142 rowing the gears!

I took the 96 to a local track rental tonight (need2speed.com 's Dead Hookers 12), I had 3 goals for the event, I met and exceded all 3 :rockon:

Goal 1. run a 1.3x 60 ft: I hit a 1.39, and a 1.38.....but missed third on BOTH of those passes! (Faceplated 1-4 gearset will be the next major mod:rolling:)

Goal 2. Get it back into the 9's (I never backed up my 9.93 @ DH7): The first pass was a 9.96@138 (I left with four 9 second slips and a 10.0)

Goal 3. Beat my best time of a 9.93: I hit a 9.77@142, then backed it up and beat it with a 9.74@142:banana:




I had a blast tonight! I cant wait for the next time out with it.

Here's some of the vids I've gathered so far. I know they are not the best, but they get the point across. BTW, If I keep the car, it will be getting some fresh white paint!

Missed the launch on one of the 9.7 passes (yeah, I know, I granny shifted 4th, lol)

I didnt get any video of your runs but I did watch some of your passes. :thumbsup: Good 60ft all night long and weight transfer is not your problem!!! It hits hard. Good bit of driving. Very nice for a six speed.

Thanks everyone!

I was a little concerened with the 28"s killing my trap speed, but I was still right at 142, but with a better ET.


I cant wait to re do my trans with the faceplated gearset. I know there should be a little more left in it with cleaner shifts, an MUCH less of a chance missing a shift in my next 1.3x 60ft:mj:

I also need to add a big ice box reservoir for my intercooler and bypass the heat exchanger.

The major difference between the 9.9 passes and the 9.7 passes was icing the blower. I didnt start icing it until 1/2 hour before my first 9.7 pass, and then the whole cooldown before the last pass (9.74).

BTW, posted the slips from the night in the first post.

get a good pass on those 1.3s and see some 9.60s!
