I see that the new Cadillac XLR will pull 330 hp out of a naturally aspirated 4.6 Northstar v-8. (August Motor Trend). This is GM's first go at tweaking their 4.6 with variable valve timing (actual 21st century technology), forged internals, throttle by wire, and 6500 redline. As for the other little item Ford will have to deal with, the Chevy Gen IV v-8, there are specs and photos at www.GMinsidenewscom (archives 5/13/02 - XV8 pictorial).

Zach, I live near Galena, a town of about 2000. Counting my 01 Cobra, there's 3 SVT cars here: my neighbor's 99 Cobra (blew his engine a couple of weeks ago), and a yellow 98 Cobra vert in town. Dubuque has all the car nuts but I don't think there's a single SVT vehicle in the whole town. My other cars: 98 Corvette 6 spd Torch red coupe 1500 mi., 72 Corvette LT-1 roadster Targa blue/wht. 7500mi, 74 Trans Am SD-455 4spd Buccaneer red 15000mi, and a 94 Taurus SHO 5spd performance red 75k mi. The list of what I used to have is long but includes a new 70 Cougar 351c and a 71 Boss 351. I assume you made it to the SVT event at Cordova last week. How was the turnout?
