Hello All - I've been thinking about better traction & tires for a while. I'm running Shelby Venice wheels 20'' x 10.5'' & 20'' x 9.5''. I've got 373 gears. I want to purchase NT555R2's for the rear 315/35R20 - overall height is 28.66''. For those who use that tire or tire size...what size tire are you using on the front? I'm thinking of the Nitto NT555G2 - but not sure of the size. Anybody done this? What size do you like? Do you like a slightly shorter tire in the front? Same height? Thanks in advance.

First, Nittos run narrow compared to the same size in a Toyo or Michelin
for the 10.5" rear, I would do a 305/30 or 305/35. I think you would end up with bulge going 315.

Front 275/35 would be just fine

I think @SCGallo2 runs the 555R2 they bite, but I am a big supporter of R888 on the rear of my cars.
R888 rear, MPSS4's front

Thanks for the advice...just looked at the Nitto 305's & the 275's. I run those sizes in Michelin Pilot Supersports...on another set of Venice wheels (polished). I'k like to get a nice set of very high performance drag / with good handling characteristics for the rear...and something somewhat matching for the front. Kind of had my heart set on 315's...but I don't want to make an expensive mistake either.

Have you ever ran DR’s on a car? They have extreme issues in the wet & feel squishy in the curves. They are basically straight line point & shoot tires.
A Toyo 888 even in stock size would be more user friendly.

I run Nitto NT05s 305x30x20 on my rears and they hook better than the 555s. I have 10.5" Rears also. Fitment is perfect.

The Nitto 555 G2 front and RII rear are a great pairing for a high powered street car. If you drive your car more like a muscle car than a sports car, you will love them. I have driven through a downpour responsibly with them and did not lose traction. The rear sidewalls are not as firm as your MPSSs, but they seem to hold up pretty good at normal street tire pressures, 30psi in my case.

I wanted to try the Toyo R888Rs, but they seem to come in weird sizes for my application, and I heard they were noisy. I like my front and rear tire diameters to be similar, currently 27.3" front and 27.4" rear on 19" wheels.

I ran a Nitto NT05R 285/40R18 on the rear at 680 RWHP and now a 555RII 305/35R19 on the rear at 725 RWHP, both at 30psi to maintain some sidewall strength. The 555RII tread hooks waaayyy better on the street.

Hey Don,
I should have conveyed better. If a person looks and is like "oh those 315's don't bulge" They would maybe be missing the rim width.
Didn't mean to poke you.
