I recently purchased a Nitrous Express kit with purge off ebay. I have never run nitrous on any of my cars before and I am curious if anybody has some tech tips for me. I plan to buy a MSD 6A and a Jacobs Mastermind to help run this system. My thoughts are to run the 100 shot jet. (It is adjustable up to 175hp) I assume I need to also buy an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and a 190lph fuel pump. Do I have everything covered or is there something else I need to consider also?
Thanks

Let me know how everything works out when you get it going cause I've been thinking of a little spray also. <IMG SRC="http://www.svtperformance.com/ubb/smilies/cwm20.gif" border=0>

I have had a blower for 8 years on my cobra. There is nothing wrong with the hyperpathetics if you don't have any detonation. I am getting close to the 10's with stock untouched heads, cam, intake and computer. Never removed a valve cover, YET. Sure it is gonna break someday, when it does in goes a stroker.
Go, Lee, Go.
Good luck.

sup Lee,

One thing you might consider is a fuel safety switch. It is a good safety feature. If you rev the motor to high ( which will probably happen on nitrous ) the rev limiter will cut the fuel off, leaving only nitrous pouring into your motor. This is where you lean the car out, get that awful backfire and mess stuff up. A bigger fuel pump will most likely be needed if u up the jet anymore than a 100 shot. Without forged insides, dont exceed a 150 shot. Thats about all a stock block can handle safely. Also, an adj.fuel regulator is a good idea. Hope this helps some.

This is an old post. I have been spraying for 4-5 months now with no problems. I am running just a 100 shot and love it!

The nitrous mastermind came with a fuel safety switch but I disconnected it. I have seen nothing but posts about troubles with the fuel safety switch. I have guage inside the car that monitors the fuel pressure.

Lee,

How has the nitrous worked over the last 4.5 years? Where you able to blow the motor? Tell us about your results.

damn a post up from the grave.

I used the 100 shot for about a year and half then up'd the jets to 150 for about 2 years or so. Never had any problems (other than a solenoid failure) with AFR 165 heads and a b' cam car went 11.57@118 with a 1.7 60' I believe. Never had any motor problems with it. I swapped over to the 14psi procharger late summer of 2004 and killed #8 piston around December of the same year due to some bad gas. OEM engine lasted until 173-174k miles. Nitrous was installed around 128k miles.

Go to my forums and look in the Dyno room and you can see what the different combinations put down that I have had. www.streetstangs.net

Maybe a little off the subject, but on my old 90 saleen, s-trim, systemax intake and trick flow heads, etc. I ran seventeen lbs boost, and a 75 shot of nitrous - just incase I was loosing. Worked well until I split the block, but lasted for almost a year and a half with the stock 120k internals.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but I wanted to hear some more opinions of 93 cobra's with NO2. I just bought a 150 shot Dry kit and wondered what drawbacks people have had with this type system. One think I am not so cool with is the fact that I need to run less timing all the time so that I can use the NO2 safely. That kind of sucks when mostly I just want to use it when a Z06 thinks he is hot stuff and needs to be passed. I should get the kit next week and I will try to post up some pictures and results for the install.

Any advice would help.

Thanks

You could use a controller to dial back timing only when on nitrous.

I think I am about to put a 200 shot back on my car since I sold the blower
