Hey guys,

I've been looking at a new camera for a while and have had the opportunity to shoot with a D40 and a D300 (what a difference) I dont need a camera as powerful as a D300 but I dont want to be held back with lens options and buy a D40...

I know that the D90 uses the D300 sensor and is cheaper, and because the camera's focusing motor is internal not external like the D40 I have many more lens options... But it is a little more than I want to spend...

Which Nikons switched to an internal focusing motor?

thanks!

I went with the D60 a little while ago, very happy with the decision. Unless you have any experience with photography/DSLR, it will probably take you a long time to get to the point where a D40/D60 is "holding you back", there is so much to learn its kind of overwhelming

Most lenses are a available with an internal focus motor (AF-S), they do however cost slightly more for that version.

I know older camera's like the Nikon d70 had internal motors and can be picked up on the cheap.
