I notice the hood strut part too. I wonder if the bean counters got to those?
Also, I received a Dodge rental car locked in transport mode a few months ago. A quick search online revealed the correct sequence of buttons to hit in order to disable it.

I bet some of that stuff is just carried over from other cars, but they can save more than a few pennies leaving out hood lifts.
