NEWB question: Whats under\oversteer?

I watch the Top Gear shows and they talk about it all the time.

In a few words, understeer is when the front is sliding out and oversteer is when the ass is sliding out.

Oversteer (also know as "loose" in Nascar) means your front wheels will turn but the ass end doesn't and wants to continue in the direction it's going.

Understeer (also know as "pushing" in Nascar) means you turn the front wheels and it doesn't want to turn. Similar to what it would do on snow or ice.
