I recall the previous version of the whipple was 50 state legal (maybe I my
memory is incorrect). I'm thinking the new version is not as FR's
webpage says it's not legal for sale on smog controller vehicles.
Anyone know if there are plans to legalize it or are we SOL in Cali?
(this is for the 03/04 cobra kit)

I would email them and ask them if there are plans to get it CARB certified. This could really change a lot of folks plans if they can't get their car to pass the visual inspection.

whipple told me months and months ago they were in the process of getting their whipple chargers carb certified. I don't know if they ever did or not, quite frankly I don't care as most people that look under my hood would never know the difference in blowers, especially when the dang blower says "ford" on it. Try callin em, see what they say.

Red 04 is correct. The Whipples are smog legal. I just purchased the new style and in the package is the E.O. # stating that it's smog legal. I also spoke with someone at Whipple before I purchased it and they confirmed the same thing.
