Keep in mind when I say pump gas I am talking about 90 octane. Sadly that is what I pay more for than probly anyone reading this pays for their "premium". I have been threatened repetedly about going faster than 11.50 and have managed to get away with it about a dozen times but that could end with any sub-11.50 pass so until I am ready to get booted there is no sense running my C16 setup.

In all the passes this weekend I still had my seats, hitch, trailer brake controller, tonneau cover, console full of CD's, lug key, everything that is normally in my DD, even the factory jack in the truck and change in the coin holder. The ONLY weight removed was taking the spare out of the bed since they will not allow anything loose in the truck bed.

On to the times:

First pass was on my 90 octane Alaska "winter" tune with 4# lower/3.5" upper pulley and stock wheels on all 4 corners, 325 M&H Drag radials:

R/T .0362
60' 1.7158
1/8 ET 7.6548
1/8 MPH 91.48
1/4 ET 11.9859
1/4 MPH 112.99

Pretty happy about the fact that the tune safe enough for me to drive @ -20* F is an 11 second tune.

Best time of the weekend was on the same 9* of timing tune but with a 6#/3.25" pulley setup. Unfortunately my IAT's were really high and most of third gear was only 8* of timing. Also for this pass I was on my A/R Baja's with 30x14 M&H Racemasters and skinny little fronts:

R/T .0210
60' 1.6681
1/8 ET 7.3048
1/8 MPH 100.03
1/4 ET 11.3889
1/4 MPH 119.69

I tried one more pass with that setup but lifted at about 1000' because I knew I was going to get the boot if I did it again. Still the truck was cooler and I was on my way to a 11.30 or better based on my 1/8 time:

R/T .1301
60' 1.5958
1/8 ET 7.2203
1/8 MPH 99.80
1/4 ET 11.6150
1/4 MPH 100.65

With my 1/8 being .0845 faster than in the 11.38 pass and cooler IAT's that would have kept my timing at 9* it is possible I would have run an 11.29.......on 90 octane!

Anyway, to keep my track privliges alive I swapped my 3.25 upper back to the 3.5. Amazing how much the truck slows down with that single upper pulley change. Two passes with 6#/3.5" upper were:

R/T .1138..................& .2281
60' 1.7360.................& 1.6518
1/8 ET 7.5610............& 7.4689
1/8 MPH 97.66............& 94.74
1/4 ET 11.7342...........& 11.6700
1/4 MPH 116.86...........& 112.21

Not sure why my MPH was so far down on the last pass. truck seems to still be running perfect after 3 days of flogging on it.

Oh and FWIW I still have over 1/2 tank of gas in it since I started the weekend with way over 3/4 tank. Really happy with the way it runs.
Hot chick even asked to pose with me and my truck for a pic. My wife, son and parents were right there at the time so I didn't suggest she do it topless.

Later two little kids came by and asked for me to autograph their hats. That was a first for me.

Awesome weekend. I still love this truck even after 7 years.

Looks like I need to update my sig too. New C16 power is 697/734.

11.6@100mph??

Yes, I coasted the last 3-400' of that run. If you look at the 1/8 mile time compared to the 11.38 pass you will see I would have hit a low 11.3, possibly high 11.2 that pass but I lifted and coasted because the guy who does tech at our track was watching me and threatened to throw me out if I ran quicker than 11.5 again. When you coast the last part of a run you get times that are really quick for the MPH you are running at the finish line like that.

FWIW after looking at my data I think I might be able to run a 10 on 90 octane. Icing my intercooler is worth at least .1 and I could easily remove between 3-400#'s of weight. If that is the case that would put me really close to a 10.9x, on 90 octane.

Shoot, I didn't even fold in my mirrors all weekend.

im confused...i was told that my 108ish MPH is good for only about mid 12s. how does 100mph make 11s? and how does letting off and coasting give you a faster time when your slowing down????

If you look at the time I posted above the 11.61 you will see that my truck ran a 11.38 at 119 mph on the previous pass. If I stayed wide open until the end of tyhe 1/4 on the 11.61 pass I would have run another 11.3 at about 119 mph again. That would have gotten me kicked off the track for no cage so I lifted off the gas at about the 1000' mark. Because I lifted and coasted my time and MPH were slower than I am capable of. Lifting early and coasting before the end of the track gives you an ET that looks really fast for the MPH you run.

Try it next time your at the track. If you are running mid 12's at 108 mph when you stay wide open until the finish line, if you lift at the 1000' mark you will probly run about a 13.0 at 90 MPH instead of a mid 12 @ 108. Trust me, this is how it works.
