With a 2.93 and 4# lower you picked up ~140 ft lbs??? Something doesn't add up.

has to be 436 torque no way a cobra would make that kinda torque with HP being that low

My numbers are 463 rwhp and 518 rwtq. Pete and Dana worked on my car too.
I have basically the same mods, except a Kand N filter and ported TB and ported
plenum. Our exhaust is the same. These numbers are for a 2.93/4# lower and I am
getting belt slip. Ken

I didn't know a 4# lower could help out that much, that's unbelievable.

big dog - any chance I could check out your True Forged wheels this weekend? I'm about to order the Victories from Steve and thought maybe I could get a look at them in person...pm me...thx.

4lb lower is giving him the torque number and he is down on the HP because he has a stock midpipe.

Bingo.

- Granted the car is making more than "normal" tq. numbers for a stock eaton upper/lower setup... it is still not that far off the "normal". Ian get yourself a midpipe and you will pick up a GOOD amount of power. Congrats on the new numbers and louder sound.

no pics loaded on the mobile unit I was using. I have just never seen that kind of power with just those mods. my friend put down 518 hp and a little less tq at petes. good numbers definetly... I am impressed to say the least. cobras have always impressed me on how the do with a few bolt ons and a tune. I was down in NJ at JDM and they had a cobra run 10.3 on a ported eaton cams and race fuel. that is amazing especially with that IRS.

midpipe will free up horsepower but the torque will drop. anything else you do to the car be it headers/midpipe/maf/throttle body and plunum the torque is gonna come down and the hp will go up.

Exactly. I think he needs to throw a Bassani or Magnaflow catted X on there but I know he's happy with the sound of his car now and I know he isn't chasing dyno numbers. So to each their own.

A Cobra with a lot of torque is more fun than having a lot of horsepower.
Torque gives you low to mid range quickness, horsepower gives you
mid to upper range speed. The high torque numbers are from a 4 lb lower
with the 2.93 upper, stock manifolds, stock midpipes and a stock Eaton.
If you installed Kooks long tube headers, you would see a big drop in
torque. Dana says my Cobra is a "beast".

i gained hp AND tq with only doing a mid pipe back in the day. i want to say it was 14hp and 10ftlbs peak. was on Mike's dyno too. headers will drop it deff i agree

I say it will only lose tq when you do a port imo

awesome numbers reguardless!

ding ding ding...we have a winner

I put 1800 miles on my cobra last year.....it's a cruiser for me. # 1 priority is I want a car that's fun to drive. From the beginning, I was mostly concerned with increasing the torque ( hence the upper/lower combo ).... I could care less about HP honestly.

I definitly understand there is more power to be made from a mid pipe, I just don't really see a need unless there is a mechanical or tune related issue that justifies it.

thanx again guys, look forward to seeing everyone around this year.
