So I finished up my latest project that I showed in the latest purchase thread. It's a replica 60s style fender stratocaster kit. Basically a finish and assemble project. Wanted to build one from scratch but did not have the confidence to do it correctly so I figure this was a good middle ground. Need to put the strings on and bring it to a guitar friend to do the various adjustments.
The body is a two piece alderwood, neck is maple with rosewood feet board.
The color is Honda Electron Blue Pearl out of a rattlecan, about 8 layers of clear. Wet sanded to 5k grit, buffed out with my DA and some compound. Couple coats of wax. The neck is two coats of pecan stain and poly and finished off with spray gloss polyurethane. Fret board will get a rub down with linseed oil then some light wax
I've posted a bit before of smaller projects I've made but this is my biggest I've done on my own. Let me know what you fellas think of my first time build.
As an added note, I have zero clue how to play a guitar but plan on learning at least the basics
