I've been needing a "work" truck so I could stop running the miles up on my 2012 5.0.

So I found this 2001 Tacoma Prerunner SR5 with 160k miles. Now I've got something to drive around that I wont be concerned too much with scratches, dings etc or putting lots of miles on it.

I've only had F-150s for trucks prior to this so hopefully all I've heard about tacoma's being good little trucks is true!

Anyway nothing special but here are a couple pics.

I like those trucks. I have an old D21 nissan pickup. I like to consider myself a ford guy but the import smaller pickups have won me over.

Not bad at all. Great for a reliable DD. can't tell from the pics, is it a Prerunner or 4wd?

How is that a 'Prerunner'?

Prerunner Tacomas have the same chassis and suspension as the 4WD variant but without the transfer case/diff/cv axles up front. A regular 2WD Tacoma has a totally different suspension setup up front.

OP, I've had two of those trucks, and they are rock solid. You'll enjoy it.

Yeah, 2wd but the suspension of the 4wd makes it a prerunner.

I'm going to work on the headlights with some haze remover see how that works.

I try to keep my garage clean, but not visible in the pics is a corner where I stack all my yard equipment hehe.

I'll definitely enjoy putting less wear on my mustang!
