Some people want to hold on to the tuner they have. I've unlocked the tuner and kept for the last couple cars I got rid of. Partially because it was my tune that was on there. Putting it mostly back to stock isn't that big of a reach. Lots of people pull parts before trading in. At least the easy stuff. A blower and intake? Sure. Long tubes, probably not. But you also don't know the situation. Maybe the PO was getting ready for something and had to get rid of the car. I knew a mechanic at a local dealer a while ago. His dealerships standard practice was to flash back to stock as soon as the car was signed over. I cringed as one of the Cobras that was on the lot had an aftermarket MAF and injectors. He just shrugged his shoulders and said it's what he has to do. As for how the car runs, hopefully it's just because of the aftermarket parts and no tune. I do remember before I got one of my old cars dialed in it would fall on it's face at WOT. It was so rich there was just black smoke pouring out of the tailpipes.
