My friend and I installed the new Comp Cam in the Lightning
in 4.5 hours start to finish and it works great.

Raced the truck yesterday and ran a best of 14.48@92mph.

It picked up 2 solid tenths off of my times and runs like
a stocker.

The factory cam had the next to the last lobe wore off and the
lifter was concaved and had a pinhole in the center.

I'm happy.

I also replaced the timing chain and waterpump while we
were right there.

I thought the mph would be about 94, but I didn't get to
experiment with shift points too much.

I was shifting at 5200, maybe 5000 would be better????

later

Sound like we're running the same Compcam. If so, even with the T/W heads and everything else, it runs best when shifted at 5100rpm. Right at 5200, it falls flat on its face.
