Need some suggestions on my roush axlebacks

I currently have the roush mufflers and they sound amazing. I want to squeeze a few extra ponies out of my car so im buying my buddy's off road xpipe. The problem is i refuse to pair them with the roush because they are a bit too loud for my taste.A friend told me to try welding a pair of dynomax bullets in the xpipe and they should quiet it down a bit. Has anyone tried or heard this with the roush and o/r X? How does it sound and is this a good idea? I am also on the fence of buying the quad tip GT500 mufflers but they are just too heavy.
