Need some help for a friend

A lady friend of mine has an 89 6cyl, her cat is making a weird noise and needs replacement, the stock ford part is over 500bux, and she went to a shop and they wanted to charge her over 700. Does anyone know of any aftermarket units that could be bolted on or welded up that wouldn't cost her a fortune? Thank you all very much for your help.

What kind of noise? Is the heat shield rattling or is it something else?

It is a rattling sound when she hits the gas, I know its comin from the cat but idk well enough to say exactly what it is, never thought about the heat sheild rattling though. Ill check into that tonight, thanks.
