Hey guys,

I have a 2005 Mustang V6 manual and when shifting into first most of the time it wont go into gear. When I get it into first all subsequent shift are really rough, from a dead stop it always grinds going into reverse. I have to push the clutch all the way to the floor and the clutch engages about 3 inches from the floor. My question is could this be the Clutch Master Cylinder or a bad Clutch? I am hoping for the Clutch master cylinder since its only a 40 dollar part. Any advice would be great.

not at my post...
I am betting slave, though it wouldn’t hurt to try the master. You will also want to consider clutch assembly, could be really worn. How many miles? Does the pedal ever lose pressure, stick to the floor?

The Clutch never loses pressure, its almost like the clutch is not being fully depressed to allow the shifter to go into gear. Car is an 05 with around 95k miles.
