I had my trans rebuilt after 5-6 syncronizer assembly went out. After install I put 3 quarts of trans fluid. Soon after initial start I noticed a leak coming from the 3 holes on the bottom of the bell housing. What is causing this leak?

What color is the fluid leaking out?

What color is the fluid you used for the transmission?

If they are the same it is likely a bad input shaft seal.

Thanks for the info, the fluid was intially the same color, but after driving the car it became darker. I put 3.5 quarts of fluid, did I use too much? I had read on this forum some people using 4 quarts.

Guess i'll crawl back under and pull the trans this evening and have someone to check the seals....

I just swapped my trans fluid two weeks ago in my 04 Cobra. 3.5 is'nt to much as long as the fluid was originally drained properly. I put just over 3.5 quarts (Royal Purple) in mine when swapping the fluid.
