Do you have an organization in West Virginia that governs high school sports if so then that is who you should be going to. I'm a girls fastpitch softball coach of a local to me high school. We have the WIAA, (Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association) which governs all high school sports in the state of Washington. They set all the rules and regulations. Some of the things you have stated as far as practices are a huge violation of rules at least in our state. 1. A good portion of coaches for girls teams are male, I have never heard of having a female chaperone for before, during or after games, but if girls are changing and the coach never leaves the locker room there is a issue. 2. Doors locked practices, I have never heard of a high school coach doing this. Kind of makes you wonder what is going on. I encourage parents to come to practice as long as they aren't a distraction. 3. Out of state practices, is this during the season or off season? Is the school on or close to another bordering state? I have never heard of a high school team traveling outside of their own school for practices. Seems strange 4. Allowing a coach in the same locker room where girls change isn't a problem. If he is in the locker room while they are changing then he or they should be in jail. How large of a school is this? The only time I have ever heard of middle school age students playing for high school teams is when the school is very small. The difference between a 6th grade student and a high school age student is pretty substantial when it comes to athletic ability. I guess if your daughter is the next Britney Griner then that's a little different. Definitely some strange coaching practices going on.
