Trying to decide to rebuild a block that will have to be cleaned up, including cooling passages. Anyone done this, is doable to clean up cooling passages that are have dried antifreeze and rust in them? What is the best way, take it to a reputable engine builder and let him boil it out?

Cylinder heads, does the same process work on the aluminum cylinder heads to clean out the old antifreeze?

Third question, or is it easier to buy a short block from M&M? I would like 650 to the wheels, so anyone used their short blocks or had them build you an engine?

thanks

Yep. I'd take it to a machine shop and have them do the big cleaning and magnuflux it. Then when you get it back scrub it out again.
